Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling

Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling (formerly VVCS) is Australia’s leading provider of high quality mental health assessment and clinical counselling services for Australian veterans and their families.

They are focused on meeting clients needs through a combination of proven clinical practices and new and emerging evidence-based approaches. Open Arms has ensured that future generations of serving men and women have access to the specialised mental health and wellbeing support they first pioneered in Australian in 1982.

Head to Health – Crisis Support

Provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, Head to Health brings together apps, online programs, online forums, and phone services, as well as a range of digital information resources. Head to Health can help you find digital mental health services from some of Australia’s most trusted mental health organisations.

Embrace Mental Health

Embrace Multicultural Mental Health (the Embrace Project) is run by Mental Health Australia and provides a national focus on mental health and suicide prevention for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

It provides a national platform for Australian mental health services and multicultural communities to access resources, services and information in a culturally accessible format.

Transcultural Mental Health Centre

Transcultural Mental Health Centre provides a vast array of mental health resources in multiple languages. Their goal is to ensure that everyone has  equal access to the mental health care they need.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue is a Free comprehensive resource library designed to help individuals struggling with suicide, depression, and anxiety. This program offers immediate online assistance as well as a suicide safety management app. Additionally, Beyond Blue provides an array of programs and resources to help combat these issues. By offering a holistic approach to mental health, Beyond Blue strives to make a positive difference in the lives of those struggling with mental illness.

Lifeline

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Griefline

A free service that supports people with their experience of grief, including telephone support, online resources, coping tools and strategies.

R U OK? inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life. Their resources provide you with practical tools and tips to recognise the signs and help to start the conversation.

National Indigenous Australians Agency

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is committed to improving the lives of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Older Persons Advocacy Network

OPAN provide free, confidential, and independent support to older people seeking or receiving government-funded aged care services. They help older people understand and exercise their aged care rights, seek aged care services that suit their needs and find solutions to issues they may be experiencing with their aged care provider.

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia work to ensure aged care services are inclusive of the diverse genders, bodies, sexualities and relationships of older Australians.  They provide a range of resources and support for LGBTIQ+ elders.

Dementia Australia

A wide range of resources and support available for people living with dementia, including their carers and families.

Compass – Guiding action on elder abuse
